How To Prepare For A New Flooring Installation With Bert Vis Flooring Inc.
Congratulations! You’ve purchased a beautiful new hardwood, carpet, laminate, or vinyl floor for your home. Before you can enjoy your redesigned room, however, you have to get the flooring professionally installed. While there’s not much to do, taking the proper steps to prepare for it is essential. Properly preparing for flooring installation will help the installation process go quickly and smoothly and ensure you’re ready for the floor of your dreams. To help with the process, the experts at Bert Vis Flooring Inc. have written down a few points on how to prepare for a new flooring installation with us. Use this to help you figure out any problems or ask any questions.
Get information regarding the floor
Before you talk to any professional, it is important for you to determine what rooms you would like the flooring to be done in. Figure out what type of new flooring you would like in each of those rooms. Is the base concrete or wood under the floor we are going to install? Does the subfloor need to be replaced? Do you want to keep your existing baseboard? Is there an underlayment under the current flooring? Answering these questions will make choosing the right flooring easier for you and the installation process easier for us.
Book an appointment with us
Once you have an idea of the rooms you want to be done and the type of floor aesthetic you want, call or come into our showroom and book an appointment for an estimator to come to your home to get accurate measurements.
Choose the flooring of your choice
When you come into our showroom, you will then need to choose which flooring you would like in your home. We have many different samples to choose from, and you are even able to bring the samples home to see what they would look like in your rooms. This is when you will determine the exact flooring and color you would like in your home.
Inspect and approve the final quote
After you decide on a particular type of flooring, your estimator will send you a final quote that includes the entire cost of the process for your approval. When you have approved everything you can either call or come to our showroom and place a deposit to process your order.
Provide necessary instructions
Once your order arrives, our scheduler will call you to set up a date for insulation. If you need to finish renovations or move furniture, our scheduler will be able to accommodate you and give you enough time to finish your project before we install the flooring. Just make sure to give us a heads up so that the entire process can run smoothly and we can give you an accurate estimate of the timeline.
Time for a new floor!
Now it’s time for a new floor! Your installers are at your doorstep, ready to install your new floor! After your new floor is installed, you will be sent an invoice for the final payment as well as a package that explains how to care for your floor. Last but not least, enjoy your new floor!
