About Bert Vis Flooring Inc.
We are a reputed flooring company in Smithville, Ontario, specializing in supplying and installing ceramic, hardwood, laminate, carpet, luxury vinyl plank, and tile floors. We were established forty-three years ago.
Our founder, Bert Vis, immigrated to Canada in 1978 and opened a flooring company in a small garage in Caistor Centre. Bert’s father, Roelof, ran a flooring store in the Netherlands, which inspired him to continue the family tradition.
In 1984, Bert opened a storefront in Smithville and continued expanding until he shifted to our current location at 214 St. Catharines, Smithville, ON, in the early 2000s.
In 2017, Bert retired and handed over the reins to his son, Ralph, and his wife Jane, who became the third generation of flooring professionals in the family.
Today, we install flooring across Fort Erie, Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, Dunnville, Hamilton, Ancaster, Burlington, and Halton. We are open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and between 9 am and 4 pm on Saturday.

What also sets us apart is that our 5000 square foot showroom that holds a wide selection of products and samples from numerous quality manufacturers, including Para Paints and Cambria Quartz countertops. We also stand behind our work and guarantee what we sell and install. Our genuine approach has built up our integrity and, with the Lord’s blessing, made us successful.
One of our most significant achievements has been knowing that the majority of our customers have been referred to us by happy clients. We are also proud to be regularly chosen by our local community in the Reader’s Choice Awards.
Our dream for the future is to stay up to date with the latest trends and technology. In this endeavor, we recently started changing to a barcode and QR price system to make finding our prices easier for customers.
Our goal is to expand our warehouse space by the beginning of next year. It will include a dedicated area to empower local contractors and those carrying out their own installations.
We also believe in giving back to society and, as part of that belief, support many local charities via sponsored golf tournaments, bike rallies, and bazaars. We annually sponsor a team for the West Lincoln Youth Soccer Club and, in the past, have assisted hockey teams with funding. In addition, we donate yearbooks for two schools every year.
